Manager research at CIC focuses on identifying manager traits that we believe will lead to long-term success. Qualitative screens include the tenure of key personnel and the identification of motivated investment teams with success-linked compensation structures. In addition to attribution, and risk and return analysis, quantitative screens also focus on whether a manager has a consistent philosophy that is consistently applied, a distinct investment process that efficiently locates attractively priced securities, and an ability to comply with client guidelines.

The Research, Evaluation and Selection process is internally driven and led by our Director of Research and our Investment Committee. At CIC, only those managers that have been thoroughly vetted are recommended to our clients.

Importantly, one of our most prominent strengths at Clearbrook Research is our ability to identify unique investment opportunities and top tier investment managers before they become well known in the marketplace. We will constantly revisit lesser known opportunities and investment ideas in consideration of a client’s portfolio. These lesser known ideas are only presented to our clients when compelling evidence exists that they will either improve the return of the investment program or better align with our client’s objectives and risk profile.
